NBC Sports disses Bklyn

Monday's are fun because I enjoy reading the new "Whine of the Week"
on MSNBC.com. It's always entertaining to read about how some multimillionaire athelete is crying like a kid in a schoolyard about some perceived injustice.
But this week, as they are mocking Devean George, who didn't want to be traded from Dallas to the Nets, they insult Brooklyn!

"The team doesn’t want you, Devean. And what’s so bad about New Jersey? We mean other than the fact the team isn’t very good? And it’s moving to Brooklyn? There are worse places to go, and as soon as we think of one, we’ll tell you where it is."

What do they mean they can't think of worse places than Brooklyn? Am I too sensitive? I don't want to be considered a whiner by whining about this, but the statement is just stupid and doesn't make sense because Brooklyn is a lot better than most places, including Dallas (which is a city I like, except in summer). Here's a link to the full article.

I also found a feedback email for NBC Sports, [email protected], and I'm going to write them and invite them to visit Brooklyn and determine if they want to amend their article. I mean, come on, the guy could be getting traded to Memphis!

  • actually the writer is dissing new jersey and the nets specifically. His paragraprh was not well constructed, granted, but he is not dissing Brooklyn
  • All I have to say to that is "Bitches!"
  • reading the paragraph, it really looks like his jabs are at the nets and brooklyn, and that jersey is the team's redeeming factor which they're about to lose. it's hard to tell what "there's worst places to go" is aimed at though. that's just my two cents on it.
  • My take is that the writer is hatin' on New Jersey, the Nets and Brooklyn. But it could just be a poorly constructed paragraph. Either way, they could improve the writing.
  • i think he's just hating on the nets
