'sNice, the west village "vegetarian friendly" place opens on 5th and 3rd today and the really cool looking yogo monster (7th between berkeley and union) opens tomorrow.

yogo monster sign says yogurt, waffles and coffee...the decor looks really cool.

going to check them out this weekend...

  • Did anyone go to snice? I'd really like to go check it out but want to make sure its actually open before trudging down there in the rain!
  • Looking forward to Yogo Monster, although I hate the name, when the weather gets nicer. Thanks for the tip.

'sNot interested in the other place.
  • 'snice is indeed open.

as is yogo monster (i agree about the name) but it looks really nicely done. the graphics of the signs are great.

    just walked by both.

yogo is open till 10pm on weekdays and 11 on fri and sat.

    late for 7th ave.

i'm gonna try yogo for dessert tonight...
  • Had lunch at 'Snice today. Simply put, this place is a godsend for anyone with vegetarian inclinations. Evidently there are a lot of people like that in the neighborhood because the place was packed. Food was delicious and fresh, prices reasonable, and atmosphere gave off a cheery boho vibe. Seems like another hit on 5th Ave. in the making.
  • yogomonster was pretty busy yesterday (saturday) and the yogurt is good. it's a bit sweeter and smoother than oko and pinkberry... a bit more american-style fro-yo, but definitely not super sweet soft serve. me like!
  • I had a yogurt yesterday....delicious!!!!
  • i tried snice for lunch yesterday (had the "meatball" sub with "parmesan" and my bf had the "chicken" pot pie wrap).

both were incredibly delicious. i dragged the bf there, as he is not really super interested in the vegetarian stuff in general but he was thoroughly impressed with the chicken pot pie wrap. he even looked over the menu and decided what he wanted to get next time. my meatball sub was terrific...the likeness to real meat it quite good.

the vibe/decor is really nice (and yes, packed!).

i really hope they take over that outside area and create a patio for when the weather gets warmer.

given the crowd in there yesterday, they'll need all the room they can get.

then had yogo moster for dessert...i had original with rasberries, the bf had blueberry with rice cripsies and strawberries. LOVED it.

i'm a huge oko fan, and i think i like this better.

and it's way closer to me. i love the signage and bright, colorful interior.

it's a hit in my book.
  • Had breakfast at the place (although the breakfast menu is very limited). Their coffee and cream cheese bagels are great. The place looks really nice and the staff is very cheerful. Seems like a hit.

Wonder if they will use the outdoor space when it gets warmer.
  • only froz yogurt ive ever had was a pint o haagen dazs.
never even looked at a place like this b4.

had the small blueberry yogurt with fresh blackberries. ($4.25)
the price for a "small" kinda weirded me (but it was the blueberry which is more). i got nervous it was gonna be a 4 bite deal ya know ;0 ?

    but
:!: the portion was alot more than i expected and the blackberries rocked. :!:

there is a clown made from balloon on the outdoor area.
kids will notice it and screech to go there for sure.

i think they specifically "set back" the front so that they can put out a few tables without encroaching on the sidewalk.
  • i agree...i think the small is probably twice the size than at oko. it was more than enough for me.

and the berries are extremely fresh and delicious...the ones i had anyway.
  • I am sooo happy 'Snice is in Brooklyn.
If you're veg/even if you're not .. definitely go here. I've never been to a restaurant where there was so much variety for a coffee/wrap/salad/cookie lover. All around greatness.
Chicken Pot Pie wrap is great.
  • YoGo is too sweet.
I was very disappointed with them.
Its Pinkberry/Oko but watered down to something else-

    I still LOVE OKO!!!!
  • My wife and I have been to S'Nice twice, so far. Both times everything we had was excellent. The menu has a nice variety - there are wraps, sandwiches and panninis, as well as salads, and everything is very well made. Everything seems homemade and high quality, unlike at say, V-Spot, where it seems like everything goes straight from the package to yoru plate.

The portions are generous - we didn't feel like we were getting ripped off at all, as is often the case at high-end sandwich shops. The dessert we had was great, too. S'Nice is an excellent addition to 5th Ave, and I hope it sticks around for a long time to come!
  • Have the long wait times calmed down at 'sNice? We were there a few weekends ago, around 3pm, so kinda peak time... it took them at least 45mins to get our pot pie wraps out to us (to-go order).
  • We went there for dinner both times, a Sunday night and a Friday night, both times around 6pm. We didn't have to wait more than 5-10 minutes either time. Not sure what it's like at other times, though.
  • I may walk down to snice for lunch today- any suggestions? I've never eaten there before...
  • the pot pie wrap is DELICIOUS!
  • Subject: sNice suggestions

I had the sesame chicken wrap yesterday. Quite tasty and the first time I had eaten faux chicken.

Also, the apple bran muffin (no added sugar) was good and I grabbed a banana chocolate chip muffin on my way to work this morning.

They open around 7:15 am if you want to stop in on your way to work. The workers were quite friendly yesterday and today. I was impressed and pleased to have them next door.
