Seuss Imagination Celebration and Peter Panic — Brooklynian

Seuss Imagination Celebration and Peter Panic

If you didn't already know, a new theater is coming to Fort Greene. The Irondale Center for Theater, Education, and Outreach, which will open in fall 2006, will be home to the 23-year-old Irondale Ensemble Project, as well as guest performances of film, dance, and music; workshops for adults and children; lectures and readings; free student matinees; and professional development workshops for public school teachers from across the New York City area.

This year, we are offering a sneak peek of the future Center, as well as a sampling of Irondale's work. If you've never seen Irondale, these are great chances to get to know the company. If you already know and love Irondale, come see some fantastic shows, get to know the company's future home as YOUR home, and see how easy it is to get to the Center! All events are at the Lafayette Avenue Church, 85 South Oxford Street, Brooklyn. Call 718-488-9233 to make a reservation today!

Don't Miss:

Peter Panic: Flying Underground
November 17, 18, and 19th at 8:00 pm
A raucous, poignant, and hilarious look at the life and times of cultural revolutionary, Abbie Hoffman, through the lens of J.M. Barrie's classic, Peter Pan. First created in 1989, the play received glowing reviews, including by Michael Cain, who wrote: This ability to make the audience howl with laughter at one moment and cringe in pain at the next is a function not only of Irondale's increasingly accomplished use of music and atmospherics, but also of the highly developed performance techniques.

The Seuss Imagination Celebration
November 19th at 1 pm.
A celebration of the life and work of the amazing Dr. Seuss! Don't miss a unique participatory experience for Dr. Seuss fans young and old, featuring skits, audience participation and songs, including “Green Eggs and Ham” sung to Beethoven, and a hip-hop “Fox in Sox”. This improv-based show was sold-out across the country when it toured over 40 cities in 2004.

Also, please mark your calendar for 2006 when we will be performing 3 other great shows:

Wasted February 2-4 at 8pm
Irondale Cabaret April 27-29 at 8pm
Fundies! May 25-27 at 8pm

The Seuss Imagination Celebration will also be performed February 4, April 29 and May 27, all at 1 pm.
