Hey, whadda want, Connecticutt Muffin? Just look at the changes on one block, Nostrand between Park Place and Sterling Place, in the past five years. Cafe 400, come and gone, Cheffy's, changed hands twice, new appliance store, a first for Nostrand in 20 years, a new carpet store, another first, Strandz, a real hip looking hair place, a big new dentist office whose proprietors are Russian and very good, by the way. The bodega on the corner of Park Place, a notorious hang-out place, has replaced the windows with new CLEAR glass making the interior visible to all night and day and has a new bright awning. The daycare place which started some 5 years also has a new awning. New fancy black historic looking lampposts are being installed as I write this note. The Black Lady never used theater is on the auction block for back taxes. And these are just the obvious changes and this is just one block. So I guess you'd have to admit that changes are happening. Stay tuned...... The latest news: the Assemblyman Karim Camara is raising money to fund a coffee shop on Nostrand!!!
