atlantic ave vision workshop? charette?

is anyone interested in coming together to begin articulating a vision for atlantic avenue in clinton hill and bed stuy before potentially subject to developer driven 'renewal' projects?

with the atlantic yards project we only had the opportunity to react to a project already in motion . . . now might be a good time to start articulating what works what could be improved and what we want . . .

it seems there are more restaurant supply businesses opening . . . maybe this is bc. development pushed them off bowery . . . will it become a new design district? which could play off all the ritzy stores further up atlantic . . are there other things that would make the avenue nicer to walk on? live on? shop on? to better link the neighborhoods on either side?

where are the trees??

Atlantic Ave is one of Brooklyn's grand thoroughfares and yet it doesn't have the streetscape or amenities of other major boulevards. . . what do you envision?
