Fresh Direct: Unfair teasing! — Brooklynian

Fresh Direct: Unfair teasing!

I live in Crown Heights, and have entered my zip and email on Fresh Direct so they can tell me when they will be kind enough to deliver to Crown Heights. SO...yesterday I get an email saying they're now delivering in my area, and I can order immediately!

Well, they lied! They are still NOT delivering to 11216. I'm annoyed, very annoyed. They ARE, however, delivering to Bed Stuy now, apparently. The hell with you, Fresh Direct! By the time they deign to deliver to me, I will be too irritated to use them. :x

Fairway forever! Anyone else get this email?

  • Yep, I got it. Even went so far as to register. Any idea what their delivery area is now, if it doesn't include this part of the zip code?
  • I have to admit that I have only ordered from Fresh Direct once but it seems that if they go to PH and to BS don't they have to cross CH to get to either of these places? What if you put in your correct address and put the zip code as 11238 (PH?)

reports that Fresh Direct will also be serving 11213, among other new zip codes, but I checked the Fresh Direct website and it does not appear to be true. Anyone know the deal?

Yup I got the e-mail too, I did try to fake out the system and put in my address with a different zip code and it rejected it as an invalid address. I'll have to stick with foodtown.com. for now...

    Update
I received this today in response to an email I sent to FreshDirect.
Thank you for contacting FreshDirect. If you received an email
informing you of service to your area, that does mean within the next
couple of weeks we will be delivering to you. We do send out these
emails ahead of time just to inform our potential customers and to see
how many people register with us so we know how to schedule deliveries.
We will be delivering to your area soon if you received an email from
us. Thank you for your interest in FreshDirect.
  • I got the email too, and I also got it in 2006 with a coupon for $25 off $50 order, still nothing. what exactly is the hold up. foodtown is my alternative,,,,,, so far no probelms.....
  • I live in 11238 and FreshDirect delivers to me....Is 11216 really that far away? I mean, I am on Prospect Pl and Franklin which people are now saying is Crown Heights. The whole time I have been saying I live in Prospect Heights...
  • Same boat as everyone else, but I tried for the first time today to see if it's true/not true and they let me register after typing in my zip-11213-- but I can't bring myself to order yet... anyone see (or rather hear) a FD truck yet?!
  • On the website, if you look at the list of zip codes they deliver to - 11213 is listed as a delivery zone. I only just checked this afternoon, so I have no idea when this was added.

Classon is the dividing line; you live in Crown Heights. BTW, if you cross to the east side of Franklin, the zip changes to 11216, and Fresh Direct won't deliver. :x

Washington, not Classon! Otherwise, I agree.

thanks for the clarification! I never knew that! At first I thought I was in Bed Stuy, then everyone said no it is Prospect Heights, and I posted in the Prospect Heights forum today and it got moved to Crown Heights, which is the only reason I figured this out today. :) Honestly, I never would have thought of Crown Heights. It sounds less desirable than Prospect Heights! hahaa

There's nothing wrong with Crown Heights. Have some neighborhood pride! :D
  • Subject: Grrrr!

:x I got it too! I am in 11213. I was mad as h#%%!!!!! Can we start a petition campaign?
  • Subject: Call Fresh Dir. FD delivers to CHN but limited hours !

I just called FD and was told that they due deliver to CHN but only during a limited window, on Weds during the day. I said this wasnt helpful as my husband and I work, and most people I know do as well. We need delivery after work or weekends. The woman took my name and email and said she would send the complaint to Management (she received others). The more they hear from us, the faster we will get better service, she said. so call: 212-796-8002.
  • I definitely think that if FD hears (more) from y'all they will be more apt to start evening deliveries. I regularly have weekday 10p.m.-11:30p.m. deliveries to my home and the drivers frequently call ahead to find out if they can come early. many of the PH/PS evening delivery slots are not full and could be fleshed out with CH deliveries. so I agree with wr - give them a call and tell them you'd definitely have a weekly order from them (or semi-weekly) if they delivered in the evenings.

    good luck, CH!
  • PSSTTT, don't tell anybody...

Last week when that email went out I immediately clicked over to the FD website and tried to register. I was able to put my info in and set up an account. I started shopping but got distracted and ended up just closing my cart. Friday I went back to it completed my shopping and checked out. Delivery is supposed to occur tomorrow morning.

I'll let you know what happens
  • I GOT FOOD!!!!

Seems like they are only delivering here on Wednesdays now but they will expand as more people register.
