I"ve been by, but haven't had a chance to stop in. It looks sooo cool, but what is it? It's never open when I have the chance.

  • they are meat pies. they have shepherds, chicken pot, spinach and feta, tons of others. they are all so delicious and make a good quick meal.

    go.
  • Check out the WT board where I express my love for the pies :-)
  • I'm never going to the movie theater over there without getting meat pies again. Way better than popcorn.
  • Where is it? The only place I know that has these is the Tea Lounge.
  • PPW & 16th
  • They're actually Australian homepathic hangover cures...
  • :D Oh my, that's waaaaaaaaaay better than what I imagined. Can't wait!!
  • Highly recommended.
  • ditto on the recommendations... they are delicious! also, Quarter Bar has them for $5, their sign says they have Shepherds Pie, Veggie Curry, and Steak and Cheese. Their Happy Hour $8 special for a pie and a pint is a great deal, considering the pies out of the store on PPW are around $5+

    now i'm hungry! enjoy!
  • They also do a Malted Milk coffee. It's not on the board but if you ask for it- they'll make it. It's a hot malted milk with two shots of espresso.

It's a great place. The mince meat pie is my favorite.
  • Mince pie = Australian, steak & cheese pie = New Zealand, and they have 'em both. We love them. The first store is on Columbia Street way down near the harbor, so I was thrilled to see the new outpost closer to home.

If you want your coffee socks blown off, get a "flat white."

    what be that, pray tell?
  • I love Dub Pies! They're small but oh-so filling... the hubbie and I will generally get two pies, one as a combo so we share the mashed potato and mushy peas. Amazing! he's a fan of the shepherd's pie, while I'm fond of the chicken and veg. It's super small inside with only 2-3 tables, but the pies are worth it!
  • I just had the steak mince and curry vegetable pies. They were both delicious, but I'm still hungry. But I will be going back there many times, as the food was delicious, and the people were extremely nice. Oh, the coffee was great, too.

    Duly noted!!!

It should also be mention that these pies can be consumed as conveniently as a sandwich, perhaps more so. No utensils, no fillings falling out, nothing dripping etc. Perfect if you're about to hop on the train.

My prediction is that pie will be the sandwich of the future...

that's s funny thing to say, considering pasties in some form or another have been around since the 1200's!!!
