help! our washer no longer agitates, and i have no idea who to call around here. anyone have a place/person they recommend?

We've used Dial Appliance ((718) 368-1512) for many years. They aren't local in Brownstone Brooklyn (I think they're in Queens, but really am not sure). However, they are remarkably responsive, day or night, and work on a variety of appliances. They have repaired stoves and refrigerators for us.

You should ask them how they charge before they come. I believe there is a charge for making the service call, and for giving you an estimated repair cost, but that charge gets applied against the repair charge if you ask them to do the repair.

If you are a renter rather than an owner, that might be an issue... they may need permission from the owner of the washer before they can work on it.

I have used Sears repair as they apply the service charge to the bill should you decide to fix your appliance.
