  • Try the jewelry shop on the corner of 8th street and 7th Avenue. That's where I go. I forget the name of it but you can't miss it.
  • Shop next to Connecticut Muffin on 7th Av.
  • I've been to the guy on 8th St & 7 Av before. He seems perfectly fine.
  • The guy at 8th Street and 7th Avenue is not "perfectly fine". Shortly after he opened the store I brought in a Longines self-winding watch my father had given me decades earlier for a minor repair.

When I returned to pick up the watch I discovered that he had pried two of the numbers off from the face! When I complained, he said that "his brother needed them for another customer's watch" and that he would make me new numbers. He did, and they look dreadful... as if they were hand-made imitations of machine-made numbers, which is exactly what they are. I haven't worn the watch since.

I should have sued him... and now I wish I had. Under no circumstances would I bring him anything of value.
  • The guy on 7th and 8th changed the battery in my Tag and it has not worked correctly since. Try some where else.
  • Been going to the guy on 7th Avenue and 8th Street since way back when he had his tiny little shop right next to the subway entrance-he has done tons of work for me including re-setting my engagement ring and other things similiar-never had a problem with him.
