seeking a 2br in Prospect Hts

We (a couple) are looking to rent a 2-br in Prospect Heights or the north Slope, ideally as close as possible to the B/Q (7th av) and Grand Army and preferably west of Washington. We'd love to pay something below 1900, and the 2nd bedroom could be small, since it'll just be an office. Move-in date between June 1 and July 1.

Anyone have suggestions about how/where to focus our search? We've been trolling craigslist for a few weeks with no luck. Is it better to drop in on the local brokers? We'd like to avoid fees....

We'd welcome any tips or, of course, leads if you know a good apt. opening up.

FYI that is Crown Heights, not Prospect Heights.

But it does look like a good price for the place.

And it is right next to the Subway sandwich shop with the bulletproof glass.

That sounds great, and I would love to come see it. Unfortunately, I am leaving town today until Wed 5/28, so I wouldn't be able to see it until after that. I will contact you then to see if it's still available.
