99 Cent stores near 11217?

The 99 Cent store on 5th Ave near Bergen Street closed - there will be an outrageously expensive personal training place instead. It looks like there is no place to buy inexpensive stuff anymore, it’s all boutiques, and expensive restaurants … anyway – can you tell me where the closest 99 cent store is? I need to buy those cheap-o plastic shower curtains – ASAP. Thanks!

I don't know where the closest 99 cent store is.. there may no longer be one. if you wander in to the higher numbers, crossing 9th street you will still find many between 9th and 15th street. they are still fun to shop in and you can find bargains and also land up buying things you didn't know you needed. I fear those are a dying breed as well with the influx of upscale stores even that part of the avenue seems to be giving way to.

Yeah, they're opening a Fitnesscollective(.com), evidently there's one on 7th Avenue also.

St. Marks and 3rd I believe has a big 99cent store. Have not been there yet though. Let me know how it is. I usually go to 15th street.

Maybe Target/Burlington Coat Factory mall madness can help out?

Save on Fifth (on 5th ave) is the closest discount store. Then if go further on 5th ave past 9th street you'll find many more.
