The Uniting Power of Conflict, a workshop for resolution
Dear Friends:
I am really delighted to send you this email. I have been working diligently to create the CONFLICT RESOLUTION workshop in New York and now I am inviting you to check out the information below, go to the website or phone me and register for this fabulous event.
This workshop is being held in New York for the very first time. There is limited seating so please register now, while we have availability.
Dr. Hoover usually presents this as part of his Business Management series "The Emotionally intelligent Manager" and charges almost $2,000 dollars -- we are presenting part of it --a 4 hour workshop for only $50.00 if you register in advance.
I have been using this process in my relationships for several years -- in business. and at home with my Teenagers and my partner. It amazes me because -- it is simple to learn and works each time I use it... with great success. I'd like you to have this skill to use in your relationships as well.
If you have friends, family members or co-workers that have relationships ( and who doesn't?) you can forward this on to them as well--or phone them up and invite them to come with you.
I hope you call me and I hope to see you there!
Conflict happens. Conflict is an inevitable part of every relationship in your life – at work, at home, with your friends, in your church or temple. Mostly we try to avoid it or deny it. In the end, though, it has its way with us – and it usually isn't pretty. How can conflict in a relationship actually be constructive?
Join us for this interactive workshop about:
*
Having respectful conflict that actually brings people together
*
Applying Emotional Intelligence to a model of conflict resolution
*
Transforming adversarial conflict into constructive conflict.
*
Learning a process to effectively progress through emotional conflicts in any relationship
*
Elevating the quality of all the relationships in your life
Dr. John Hoover has been a psychologist in private practice in Knoxville, Tennessee since 1978. In his psychotherapy practice, Dr. Hoover counsels individuals and couples. He is also a senior consultant with Impact Associates. Dr. Hoover's unique approach features the role that constructive conflict plays in the formation of interpersonal relationships. "The Uniting Power of Conflict "is presented in a seminar-workshop format in easily understood concepts and useful skills. "The Uniting Power of Conflict" is one component of The Emotionally Intelligent Manager, a three-day training program developed by Dr. Hoover and Dr. Virgil Metts, of Impact Associates, Inc., Maryville, TN.
Emotional Intelligence involves the balance of emotions and thoughts. When people engage in conflict they usually become unbalanced, particularly in the emotional realm. When our emotions become elevated, our thinking can become quite exaggerated and distorted -without our even knowing it. Then our reactive patterns of fight or flight get triggered. The result can be unhealthy blaming, hurtful accusations, resentments, and outbursts of anger.
Upon completion of this workshop, you should have a better understanding of how conflict in a relationship can be constructive. You will also have learned and experienced a communication process or tool that can bring you closer together with the person you have been in conflict with.
Pre-registration is not required, but is highly recommended as each workshop is limited to 50 people.
