Looking to buy a street/race bicycle for relatively cheap

just moved across the street from the park and im looking to go into bike racing but only have a toys r us mountain bike. does anyone have or know of a place to buy one or a used for around $100. i dont care what it looks like as long as the gears and brakes work and the bike is not covered in rust. any info would be most helpful. thank you

My neighbors on Prospect Avenue near 6th avenue sell used bikes on the street. They are usually out every day. I got a decent old peugeot from them for $70.00. I had to tune it up and it is old, but it's a good knock around bike.

I got a 10 speed Schwinn World Sport through him, he delivers right to your apartment and makes adjustments for ya on the spot. Definitely a good dude and he stands by his bikes.
