open letter to brooklyn deli: bacon should smell GOOD

i was just in brooklyn deli, the deli/bodega on the corner of prospect and franklin, previously my preferred bodega, now under new management.

they were frying a TON of bacon, and YUCKYUCKYUCK! i had to run out without buying anything. i don't know when i've smelled anything more disgusting. in the words of another customer, "are they frying dog?" an apt description: it smelled like rancid fat + hot, wet dog + cleaning products.
