on the subject of new stores...

went to Yaba on Flatbush, that new bath stuff store, to grab a baby shampoo and was pleasantly surprised by the prices - would've expected it to be much worse with the rents on Flatbush - still shocked that the Mama Dukes space hasn't been filled.

anyway, I like talking about the new stuff and stuff, thoughts?

I was so happy to see that the other day! It's owned by Sam, who owns the little grocery next to Bergen Bagels. I was really surprised at the variety of brands, and the prices are excellent. I most definitely will be be doing my girly shopping there, rather than the dreaded Duan Reade.

I could be wrong, but my understanding is that the current inventory was bought from a store that sold/went under, hence the low prices. My nosy, and greatly appreciated, informant stated that once that inventory clears out, the prices will/should adjust.
