edited November -1 in Sales Openings Events
Two amazing bands featuring vocalists Kaissa (from Cameroon) and Tamar-Kali (Geechee Goddess).

Kaissa is known for her highly engaging vocals and pulsating African/Western rhythmic backdrops. Originally from Cameroon, by way of Paris, Kaissa fuses African and world music, singing lyrics with a message, speaking out against war and injustice. She has performed with Paul Simon.

Tamar-Kali harnesses gut-based, hardcore-tinged rock with the honest melodic inflections of soul, a passionate expression of her South Carolinian Geechee roots and Brooklyn punk/soul upbringing.

These two artists will present their original music, along with Jenny Hill on saxophone and flute, Maciek Schejbal on drums, Stefan Bauer on marimba, Todd Isler on percussion, John Caban on guitar and others.

Tonight 8p.m. at The Good Coffeehouse, 53 Prospect Park West, @2nd St. $10.00, doors open at 7:45p.m.
