Rutland Road Nostrand in PLG?

Hi,

I'm a first-time poster but have read these forums for awhile. My wife and I are moving into an apartment next week on the corner of Nostrand and Rutland Road, which I think is officially part of PLG.

Does anyone know this area well or could give me any info. about it? It seems like a nice neighborhood to me, I've talked with a lot of people around there who said it's a quiet block and have walked around at night.

Any information from anyone who lives near here or knows the area would be appreciated.

It's a nice neighborhood, with a lot of families. It's pretty stable without a lot of housing turnover, because in part of the neighborhood the zoning doesn't allow houses to be broken up into separate units for more than one family. It has good subway access and proximity to the park, and well as a decent amount of commercial activity on Nostrand.

You'll be very close to an amazing sandwich shop- Mama Louisa's, on Rutland Rd and New York Ave.
