If I had a car...
...I would start an illegitimate taxi service. It seems to me that, with the demand during commuting hours, you could make a pretty penny by ferrying groups of people around the city. Hand out cards to people as they hop in in Brooklyn, tell them to pass them around, pick up folks who look cold at the bridges, and just charge a flat fee to ferry people around. I somehow doubt that the cops would be all that zealous about stopping you.
Logistics might be terrible, but when there's demand, there's profit to be made.

wow...that's...not what I had in mind.
The "no guys" part is the best, because you know that's what he really wants, but is afraid to ask.
um...thank you? -

A friend was picked up as part of the "Help a neighbor" spirit we are supposed to be participating in. She took the last seat in a sedan with some other folks. The driver, who said he was coming in from Bensonhurst, politely told her that it would be $10 bucks to go to the Bridge and $20 to go to her door in Midtown. Her companions were not acquaintances of the driver and had bought into this deal. She paid the $20. Now that is $60 bucks right there. Not bad, IMHO. He told her he hoped to make 2 or 3 runs like that in the morning and one in the afternoon coming back. My wife's company said that any receipt she could produce tomorrow spurious or otherwise was good enough for her.
