Zipper replacement......stupid question — Brooklynian

Zipper replacement......stupid question

I no longer have a sewing machine and will need to have my dry cleaner/tailor replace a zipper in a cocktail dress. Do I need to provide my own zipper or is that something they should have?

(I know...really, really dumb question)

  • Nope--you do not.
  • depends on the tailor, because one time i went to a place to replace a simple black button, and they didn't have one. went to a place 2 blocks up, they had it no problem.

it really depends on the place, so imo you should call them first.
  • Good to know...thanks!
  • For a zipper that no one will see, they have those. Should be no problemo.
  • Ideally, no one will see it.......it's for a wedding in Philadelphia, though, and zipper visibility is cheesesteak-consumption-dependent.
  • The only problem you may come across if say, aformentioned dress is a particularly unique color. Black/white- no probs.
