Green Energy?

I've been mulling over the idea of switching to green energy (http://www.poweryourway.com/Default.asp) and it's great that they offer a 7% discount for your first two months, but does anyone know what happens then? Is green energy much more expensive? How much? Is it reliable? Any recommendations of who to get the green energy through would be great.

I've been using ConEd's green power option for a year now. For the first 2 months I received a discount, but then after that there has been about a 7% increae in the kilowatt hour rate compared to standard electric rates. It doesn't translate to an overall 7% increase on the bill, only on the kilowatt hour usage, not on the delivery service fee or tax. It's really been a small increase and it's been more than worth it for us. We're using the all hydropower option.

Ill look into that, but me and a couple of friends we are tryna save money as well as go green by staying unplugged. Thats right we unplug every damn thing. We dont keep anything plugged in thats not being used. So unplug that coffee pot, toaster, microwave, vcr, dvd player, charger, stereo and lamp today. So many people keep those things plugged in 24/7 and thats added onto your bill and increases it royally.

I unplug lamps and my microwave and leave them unplug till night time or until i need to use them. I never plug in my dvd/vcr unless im gonna use it. Also unplug that external hard drive until u need it and turn of that desktop and unplug that modem when u got to bed, it all helps. Once my friend told me he got a $40 dollar con ed bill i was in...lol
