  • i think there was a thread about that place somewhere..
i heard they only do private parties though.
  • My wife and I went and had a nice time. The renovation is very attractive, with a lounge up front and more seating in the back. Beer selection was pretty standard. They also have a DJ booth.

    I'd go back.
  • Jack - did they serve any type of food?
  • Hi Stacey,

No, we didn't see any food. Their specialty seems to be cocktails (which I can't comment on, since I drank beer). If you like a laid-back, lounge atmosphere, then you'd probably enjoy it. All in all, it's a pretty cozy place. Friendly service, too.
  • Went there last week for about an hour and I was the only customer there. It is a nice comfortable place but why did they open without any announcement?

Does anyone know what happens to the new lounge at the corner of Vanderbilt and Dean. They opened a few months ago and was doing business for awhile but its place been closed since November.
  • I have been there a couple of times and would highly recommend checking it out. Its just a really nice laid back lounge. Its owned by a couple guys that grew up in the neighborhood. It doesn't ever seem to have many people inside, but, bring your friends and then there will be people!!! :-)
  • I got dropped off in Fort Green duing the strike so dropped in on Indigo Blu on my way home. Definitely a great addition to the neighborhood. Very laid back, specializing in Blue drinks... the guy I talked to - Alan was planning a blue drink day where people could sample and give feedback on his blue drink menu. I'm more of a beer guy so was heartened to hear that he's got taps being installed soon.

    Happy Hour at Indigo Blue?

I strolled past it one night and was intrigued, so I can get behind that. Obviously next year when we start the rotating action again.
  • Subject: I likey

the owner is hot and while not a lot of ppl were in there, everyone was nice and talking to each other. totally chill and the drinks were tasty. i definitely recommend checking it out and getting your friends to go, to make sure it stays in the neighborhood. there are enough bars/lounges to do a bar crawl on Vanderbilt now!
  • How about Happy Hour there next week?
  • Thanks for the update on the taps, Duke. I thought it odd that they had nothing on draft, but I guess I can expect that to change soon. I'm glad that there's another drinking option on Vanderbilt.

Has anyone been to the bar on the corner of Vanderbilt and Pacific? I can't recall the name.
  • Thanks Jack. I will definately try Blue Indigo.

I think the place on Pacific you are thinking about is Nailia's (?) Cafe. They once posted on this board. My husband and I stopped there for a drink one day - it was very nice - we were the only ones there so service was excellent and the drinks were strong. We mentioned their post on Daily Heights and were given a drink on the house. I was looking forward to their comedy night.

We walked by a couple days later and they were closed. Im not sure if they are closed for good or have weird working hours.
  • I second a happy hour at indigo

We stopped by last night for a nightcap and had a wonderful time! Bartender and music and all was quite nice!
