Summer streets on Saturday 8/16
I'm excited about the summer streets project happening on Saturday and I'd like to ride my bike over the Brooklyn Bridge and up Park Ave., but I'm not sure of the best way to get to the Bridge.
Based on the bike map it looks like 9th St to Clinton to Cadman Plaza is the best route.
Does anyone know a better way?

That actually sounds like a good, safe route. I'm going to try that the next time I go to the city on the leisure tip.
On my way to work, I go through Park Slope to Bergen to Smith Street then make my way to Brooklyn Bridge way /boerum place and go straight onto the bridge. This is not exactly relaxing, but it's fast.
Frankly, however, I would not ride over the Bk bridge on a weekend. There are just WAYYYY to many people: peds and bikers.
Take the Manhattan Bridge. IT's right next to the brooklyn bridge on the Bk side, but dumps you further north in Manhattan, on Canal Street. -

Ridethecity is a great resource but like any mapping data their "best way" is always open to interpretation. Ridethecity is no substitute for trial and error and a bike map. For example, my route from Windsor Terrace to Astoria is superior to the ride they recommended. -

yea, I noticed they don't have 9th st listed as a bike lane either.
Howdy, Stranger!
