Who does this in the nabe? I have a formerly gorgeous randomly colored bag that needs to be cleaned and reconditioned or redyed. Thanks!

  • I haven't been there in a long time but the cleaners on 7th Avenue between 2nd & 3rd Street deal with leather stuff... or at least they used to. Maybe double check before you head over. They don't do it in house but they send it out to be done. I had an older leather coat cleaned up through them and it came back looking nearly brand new (it was a bit beat up from normal wear and tear). I sent a friend there to do the same and she was pleased with the results as well (for a leather jacket). Good luck!
  • OK, thanks I will check them out!
  • Took me a bit to try to remember the name so I could find the information online for you. :)

  • So Personal doesn't do bags and kind of laughed when I said I needed redying or reconditioning. Thought I would ask again - anyone know where I can get my bag done?
  • Try Fordham Leather Repair, located at 39 W32nd St 6th fl. The number is 212-889-4553.

I have only had bags repaired there and have been very happy. They are well known amongst the designer handbag crowd.

Bridge Cleaners on Bridge Street downtown Brooklyn.
  • The shoe repair place on Flatbush and Park Place (corner next to the triangle) did a good job on a torn leather jacket for me. They fixed a handbag once, too. I think it's called Professional Shoe Repair.
