masters swimming? any masters or retired USS swimmers? — Brooklynian

masters swimming? any masters or retired USS swimmers?

i'm bummed the dodge ymca masters team no longer offers evening workouts.

anyone know if the williamsburg team still runs? if so, who do i contact?? all contact info i've tried has been defunct.

alternately, anyone out there interested in forming a swimming group to work out at Eastern Athletic Club or the Prospect Park Y a couple/few evenings a week? i can write the work outs or, better yet, we can take turns... maybe an hour long? i'm a very out of shape retired USS swimmer... (it may take me a few weeks to work up to a serious workout, but i'm determined and a team, even a pseudo-team, would REALLY help!)

  • Hey, realize this post is from August but if you're still interested i swim at the prospect park Y. I was thinking of joining Dodge Y masters in the morning but haven't heard back from anybody, is that still going on?
Only problem is the Park Slope Y is crowded at night so it can be tough to get a good workout in
  • dodge has discontinued their masters program. There's one at Berkeley Carroll, and there's talk of a new program at LIU's Brooklyn location. Check brooklynswim.org for more on that one.
