Hey Joe, Luna Park was quite a place. Too bad it burned down. They had a Roller Coaster that ended up in the water on the last descent. It was actually a boat on wheels. Made quite a splash when it landed. They had many side shows, most would not allow children so I guess they were showing weird or sexy things kids were not supposed to see. Luna had more lights then any other park. We liked Steeplechase better but Luna could be fun also. I think they tried to reopen after the first fire but they never came back to what it was. In contrast Steeplechase was even better after the fire they had. I only remember Steeplechase after the fire but my parents and siblings were quite impressed by how much better it was. George C Tilyou who owned Steeplechase was a Park Slope resident. I do not know who owned Luna Park.:lol: Old Goat

    TERRY,

AAAAAHHHHH, you have me thinking about my beautiful clothsline in Brooklyn now. THE BEST!! I remember when the line would break and my mother would send me climbing up the telephone pole to fix it.
James loves you too, Terry! I hate that he does not celebrate his birthday anymore. Poor thing. Well, he and Lucia and Deetzie and Tony Perotta and Ro are going to be in Florida in a couple of weeks, and I'm going to have a little party for him anyway. I think the kids would like to do that for him. I'm also trying to decide what to cook for all of them. I'm so excited that they are going to come to my house. I may do a mini Christmas Eve menu. Baked Clams, Linguini with White Clam Sauce, Fish Salad, Crabcakes, etc. I'll also get a nice Neapolian Cake with Cannoli Cream and bake another batch of 7-Layer Cookies. I LOVE COOKING FOR JAMES. He enjoys everything and always has something positive to say. Anthony, on the other hand, critics everything.......the little punk!

    MILDRED,
So nice to see your face again and here from you. I owe you a call. Hope all is going well with you. Thanks for acknowledging my little rememberance of my mother. You and Terry are so good about responding to everyone's entries. I need to work on that. My eye sight is failing me so it's hard to scroll and read everything on here. Sometimes I just want to say "hello".......so I do. I'll talk to you soon. I have not heard from Carol in a while either.

    CHUCK (Debbie Bonavita),

I know you're nervous to begin with. Surgery will make anyone nervous (except me -- I loved all my hospital stays. It was like being on vacation). You are going to be fine. Be thankful they are finally getting to the root of the problem. In no time at all after surgery, you will be up and around and feeling better. I just know it, buddy. I'll call you this week. Stay positive!!!!

    JOE PINTO,

Your pictures are too funny. Now I want 20 hot dogs thanks to you! I'm also thinking about a potato and egg on crispy Italian bread.

Listen, has anyone actually had an affair at The Grand Prospect Hall? I'm getting some negative feedback on the quality of their food. US ITALIANS WILL NOT STAND FOR SHITTY FOOD at any event, especially after the rave reviews the food got last year that Terry and Lori ordered.

    Have a great day guys!

    LOVE TO ALL OF YOU.

When my neighbor asked for advice on buying a computer, I told him to just stay away from one brand, Compaq. Well weeks later he called me and I repeated this and he said he was on line at Radio Shack paying for it. A Compaq !! So he didn't listen.
Months later, he said it wouldn't work. So, he went a couple of years using the computer at work or stopping by to use mine, not taking advantage of the service warranty.
One day I said I was getting mine worked on & he could bring his to my house also. I saw it and asked him where the wire was from the monitor to the tower. He said those were all the wires he had!!
Diagnosis, the wire fell out and he never noticed it!!! Very bright guy !!!

Debbie, I do not know exactly what your medical problem is but I have been treated for two different cancers since 2001. My Wife Carol was diagnosed with Colon Cancer in 2002. It is now 2009 and we are still here. We had radiation, Chemo etc:. I lived long enough to get some heart problems. You have three very important things to remember.
#1. You must have a positive attitude. # 2. You must have faith in God and your Doctors. #3. You must have a group of friends and or family who will morally support you and pray for you. #3 is a given because just on this blog alone you have a large group that will morally support and pray for you. #1 and #2 are in your hands.
I am much older then you and live in a Community with older people. We have a simple prayer when we wake up in the morning. Thank you God that I am still looking at the top of the Flowers and not the bottoms. You will be looking at the top of the flowers for many, many years to come! :D:D

We loved going to Steeplechase. I remember the big ticket was a $5 one. It was a round circle card that you wore around your neck on a string. It was so exciting to go there. The best fun a kid could have back then.

Of course, we never had the more expensive card. There were 3 kids and 2 parents, and they didn't splurge too much.

Christina.....I know everyone is right, i'm keeping myself as busy as I can to keep from dwelling on it. I just can't wait for it to be over. I look forward to talking to you. Love ya

Warren.....Thanks for the words of wisdom. I'm trying to be positive, but as it gets closer I can't help but be nervous. But, you're right, all my friends and their well wishes on here helps me everyday.
