Brooklyn Back When - Open Thread

...AND HOW IS MIKE FEELING? BETTER ,I HOPE

I know. i was always very athletic and had a great solid body. This dam
knee prevents me from all the exercise. Mike and I walked that Great Kills Park everyday and I mean everyday We walked from Hylan to the beach 2 times. He was 40 lbs lighter and I 25 lbs lighter. What can u do
as long as we get up in the morning and see that sun shine or a cloudy day, we have everything....

Took alot of photos about 650. Mike is doing better he is working. He is not off until next week. I took a photo of this sign. I was so excited I thought it said PINTO but it was PUNTO. LOL Anyway thought of you that day when I saw that sign in Italy

I was talking abot the reunion at my dnner table one time and two family members and inlaws said.......

OH REUNIONS ARE SO PEOPLE GET TOGETHER TO SEE WHAT PEOPLE LOOK LIKE NOW AND HOW SUCCESSFUL THEY ARE. I WENT CRAZY AND LEFT MY TABLE ALMOST CRYING AND PISSED.
I HONESTL CAN SAY I DONT THINK ONE OF US THOUGHT THAT AT ALL. I KNOW I DID NOT. I WILL SAY I THOUGHT ABOUT HOW I MAY LOOK TO OTHERS BUT NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT WHAT SOMEONE WAS GOING TO LOOK LIKE OR WHAT KIND OF JOB THEY HAD. I WAS SO VERY HAPPY AND EXCITED TO KNOW THAT I WAS GOING TO MEET MY CHILDHOOD FRIENDS. NEVER ONCE THOUGHT ABOUT LOOKS AND JOBS. I WAS SO PISSED THAT DAY AT MY HOUSE. STILL PISSED ALITTLE. LOL

I am anxious about the reunion and I think my mom may come along not sure... I also am hoping a couple of people from my era will be there I know of 1 but not sure if any others

Morning friends. Wow this week went too fast. The kids will be
home today, fun time is over. I missed them even though they
drive me nuts!! LOL Definately getting out today, it supposed
to hit 74 today. My kind of weather.

enjoy your kids while you still can they grow up and out the house before you know it...
mine are 23 to 27 and out and i miss them terribly

hubby went and got some sod and is beautifying the front of our house

and get this we rent aint we good tenants lol

well just so you know before the reunion...

Hi Helen ....dont stress the Reunion ....we are who we are!
Ive met so many people who have money ... and they are
so miserable. Matter of fact ....I avoid them....life is too
precious to live like that. So, just think about having a good
time with friends and having alot of laughs.

A father wanted to read a magazine but was being bothered by his little girl, Shelby. She wanted to know what the United States looked like.

Finally, he tore a sheet out of his new magazine on which was printed the map of the country. Tearing it into small pieces, he gave it to Shelby and said, 'Go into the other room and see if you can put this together. This will show you our whole country today.'

After a few minutes, Shelby returned and handed him the map, correctly fitted and taped together. The father was surprised and asked how she had finished so quickly. 'Oh,' she said, 'on the other side of the paper is a picture of Jesus. When I got all of Jesus back where He belonged, then our country just came together.'

I'm Back....

Last year I replaced all the windows in my house with that expensive double-pane energy efficient kind, and today, I got a call from the contractor who installed them. He was complaining that the work had
been completed a whole year ago and I still hadn't paid for them.

Just because I'm blonde doesn't mean that I am automatically stupid.

So, I told him just what his fast talking sales guy had told me last year, that in ONE YEAR these windows would pay for themselves!

"Helllooooo? It's been a year," I told him!

There was only silence at the other end of the line, so I finally just hung up.

He never called back.

I bet he felt like an idiot.
