Thanks Deb.....great to be here with Everyone....I Knew your DAd pretty well from St, Johns.....He was a great Guy....Big in every way heart and stature. He did so much for the community and Parish, especially with the kids.

Terry , Thats nice of you to say....Karen was one of my fav's in grammer school....ya she is friends with one of my neighbors and I ran into her and Jerry at thier house a bunch of years back. What a pleasent surprise. Time sure does fly.

Anyway I am glad u went to Jack and Ivy. They are so nice.
Really I think they have good prices, well much better than S.I.
going to unpack my groceries and wrap my Mothers day gifts if I can find them. I buy things and put them away and cant find them when I need them. Must get organized

I always think of Big Nick when I make meatballs. I still can see him come into Aunt Marie and Uncle Chubby's house and stick the fork in the gravy and pull out a nice size meatball and he just stuck it in his mouth and ate it...
I was little so he seemed so big to me. I know I wrote this already I a not losing my mind. Just wanted to let Debbie know I think of Big Nick....lol

Deb and Terry I remeber I was living out of the neighborhood, maybe 1981-82 and I happend to be down my parents house at the time on 18th, St. Johns was having a Bazzar.....we went over and I sat in at a poker game in the Basement.....I think I was playing at the same table with Ms Arciello...She was one of my teachers in the early 60's........at the same table was fat Danny(baba as we called him), he was a bit wacked....used to walk along fith ave singing and wisteling....."hey summers here , no brazziers"...anyway the dealer aked him to cut he cards and he took a a HUGE knife, and literally cut the deck.....Big Nick who was running the show, came flying in , took the knife away and literally picked him up. which had to be 300 pounds at a minimum...and through him out on to 21 st.....true story...LOL.....

i remember the bazaars at st johns i used to look forward to them

Ya, and the 21st Feast.....thety closed down the entire street....and the st Rocco's Bazar every summer.....great times

Im doing a quick type-by .....Al you just reminded me of Danny Baba ..... I forgot all about him....short, chubby ...thinning hair....he would make a noise like ....woop, woop ....while trying to pinch our butts .....we would just slap him! Funny memories

Suzie/Terry.....danny was not too tall maybe 5-8 or 5-9 if I remember and really round....very funny....he did sing Gloria, I remember that now that you mention it Terry.....he wore a button down shirt with a ginny-t under it usually, walking 5th Ave.......we all got a kick out of him....the st. johns story with him and nick was something I never forgot.

Suzie, I did know Joey ,,,I hung out with him from time to time...he was a few years younger then me....went out with a cute girl from 17th st. Barbara.....he was very shy though around girls that is.
