this is happening because people on the board are posting pictures that are TOO BIG. If the photo is too wide, it breaks the board. Please tell people to add smaller photos, or edit the img tag so the so the width="400". thanks!

When I first read this I must admit it annoyed me. To think that a big deal would be made over sharing some simple recipes. But, it IS a big deal Paul, and you are right. If there was to be any money made off of something like this it should go to a charity. There are probably people reading along waiting for a chance to get hold of some REAL old neighborhood recipes. I'm going to print that broccoli rabe recipe. the only other recipe I would like to have is the escarrole and beans one...sooooo...if someone has one and doesnt mind shring it with ME...please send it to me in a P.M. My taste buds and I would greatly appreciate it.
neighborhood recipe's on here. LOL .We once
discussed putting a cook book of these
recipe's togethor and I still think its a great
idea, especially if the proceeds were donated
to a charity or The American Cancer Society.
I'm not under estimating the amount of work it
would take, just some FOOD for thought.
Maybe a few old photo's of the neighborhood or
some pic's of the original recipe owners, Mom,
Dad, Grandma etc. Even some new/old recipe's
and photo's from some of us, LOL.
I'm just curious Mike, why did my post annoy
you at first? Did ya think I was asking everyone
not to give them to you personally, LOL I thought I was pretty clear in my response here that what annoyed me was "a big deal would be made over sharing some simple recipes." After reading your post all the way through *I* came to the conclusion that there MIGHT be someone out there lookin to make money off these recipes, so I removed the RECIPE!! thread. I can only speak for myself and what my intentions are...I would like an escarole and bean recipe to go with the broccoli rabe recipe that Festina ANGELINA was so kind to share with not only me but the entire blog. As far as anyone lookin to make money off using these recipes in a cookbook? Thats on them. As far as you or anyone else being able to make this happen and donating the money to charity? More power to ya. As for me? I'm goin to re-post my Chicken Marsala recipe (using Colombo marsala wine imported from Italy) and let it ride. And no...I dont own shares or have a vested interest in Colombo marsala wine...it's just SOOOOO good...try it and see for yourself. After reading your post, Paul... I felt the need to "cleanse" myself of this whole thing. Hi Festina ANGELINA. I DO love that name but i AM biased. P.S. I think I found someone to make the broccoli rabe for me and she told me of a few other recipes that might end up on that RECIPE!! thread...wish me luck.

HEY MIKE TRY THIS ONE ITS THE ONE I MAKE
ITS FROM MY DAD
Ingredients
2 tablespoons olive oil
4garlic cloves, chopped
1 pound escarole, chopped
Salt to taste
4 cups chicken stock
1 (15-ounce) can cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
1-ounce greated Parmesan
Freshly ground black pepper to taste
6 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
Serving suggestion:in a bowl over hard crusty bread
Directions
Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a heavy large pot over medium heat. Add the garlic and saute until fragrant, about 15 seconds. Add the escarole and saute until wilted, about 2 minutes. Add a pinch of salt. Add the chicken stock, beans, and Parmesan cheese. Cover and simmer until the beans are heated through, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
Ladle the soup into 6 bowls. Drizzle 1 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil over each. Serve over hard crusty bread. -
Hey Anthony...thanks so much for this. Especially where it is comin from. I know it's from your dad, but that hadda come from your heart man and THAT is what this blog means to ME. I will print this and save it with the brocolli rabe recipe. Thanks again Anthony

MIKE WE HAVE IN THE PAST AND STILL WILL PUT UP RECIPES ON THE BLOG
THERE IS NO SECRET THERE
AND WHAT PAUL WAS TALKING ABOUT BACK A BIT THE BLOG WAS TALKING ABOUT PUTTING A COOKBOOK TOGETHER OF OLD FAMILY RECEPES FROM THE HOOD I DONT THINK HE WAS SAYING ANY THING TO YOU ABOUT NOT DOING IT OR DOING IT OR WHO WILL BE MAKING MONEY OFF IT IF SOMEONE WRITES IT BE IT FROM THE BLOG OR READERS OF THE BLOG
AS A MATTER OF FACT THERE IS A COOKBOOK OUT OLD ITALIAN BROOKLYN RECEPES NOBODY WE KNOW JUST SOMEONE THAT CAME UP WITH THE SAME IDEA I EVEN WROTE A COOKBOOK NOT FOR PRESS JUST TO HAVE MY FAMILY RECEPES -
I THINK WHAT PAUL WAS SAYING IS THAT IF WE THE BROOKLYN BLOGERS FROM THIS SITE COULD PUT TOGETHER A COOKBOOK OF FAMILY RECEPES MAYBE WE CAN SELL IT AND PUT THE PROFITS TO A CHARITY OF SOME KIND WHAT EVER WE ALL WOULD AGGRE ON
SO I THINK YOU MIGHT BE TAKING WHAT PAUL SAID WRONG
THATS ALL NO BIG DEAL -
OK
NOW I AM SAYING GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS
LETS KEEP IT REAL
LETS KEEP THE FAITH
LETS KEEP THE HOPE
LETS KEEP THE SMILE
AND GUYS YOU KNOW
LETS KEEP IT UP
PEACE AND LOVE TO ALL
