SNOW BALL IS HOLDING HIS OWN
I DONT KNOW WHAT I AM GOING TO DO
THE COST OF A DOG IS SO DAMM HI TODAY ITS NOT FUNNY
SO HERE I SIT THINK WHAT TO DO
OK I GUESS I WILL SEE YOU GUY LATER -

I WAS WATCHING THE MEMORIAL SERVICE AT FORT HOOD.
I FOUND IT VERY MOVING.
I WAS NEVER IN THE MILITARY, BUT, I OFTEN THINK IT WAS MY LOST THAT I NEVER SERVED.
WHEN I WAS 18 YRS OLD- THE VIETNAM WAR WAS IN FULL SWING.
I NEVER GOT DRAFTED AND I WASN'T GOING TO SIGN UP. BUT LOOKING BACK, I THINK I WOULD HAVE MADE A GOOD SOLDIER. I LOVE THIS COUNTRY AND NOW I FEEL, MORE THAN EVER, I WOULD DO ANYTHING TO PROTECT IT.
IF IT WASN'T FOR ALL WHO SERVED, PASS & PRESENT, WE WOULD NOT HAVE THE GREAT NATION AND ALL ITS FREEDOM THAT WE ENJOY TODAY.
MY DAD FOUGHT IN WORLD WAR II- HE WAS A MEDIC IN THE NAVY-MY GRANDFATHER FOUGHT IN WORLD WAR I.
NOW MORE THAN I APPRECIATED ALL THAT THEY DID AND ALL THAT EVERY MILITARY PERSON DOES IN ORDER TO KEEP US SAFE
THANK YOU ALL -
-
HI ANT.....IF SNOWBALL IS COMFORTABLE AND NOT IN PAIN AND HIS QUALITY OF LIFE IS GOOD.....THEN JUST KEEP GIVING HIM ALL THE LOVE IN YOUR HEART

Hi Paul,
Hi to Jerry and Warren.
And, where the hell is Al, Mike, Danny, Rob, Jessie,
Peter, Moe, Larry, Curly????
I am here in the backround taking in all the postings. I know that Terry is in Florida (about an hour or so from me) and that Anthony's dog is not well. I have very little to add to the blog since I am not from your neighborhood (just out of it ,12th St) I am considerably older then most people on the blog, and know absolutely no one who comes on here regularly.
Joe, I read your posting about the Military. I served in the late 50's. I do not regret the two years I gave up but remember I was lucky enough to have served during peace time. I learned a lot about people and especially those who had a different backround then me. I feel that the Armed Forces is the best school in the world for learning how to get along with people whether they are black-white, rich-poor, formally educated or from a one room school house. You can learn from everyone. When I had to pick a buddy to tent with out in the field on manuvers in basic training, I picked a country boy who knew everything about living in the outdoors. My buddy who lived in Brooklyn and went to H.S. with me was hurt. "Why did'nt you pick me to tent with Warren". I told him two guys from the tar covered streets of Brooklyn would have a tough time surviving in the woods. Go get a country boy who probably has little education in school but will help you survive in the woods. He did and we both survived and thrived! The pay was lousy, the food so-so but the lessons of life were priceless.
-
THAT'S IT, WARREN........LIFE LESSONS THAT YOU WOULD NOT GET ANYWHERE ELSE.
I'M NOT SURE, BUT I THINK IN ISREAL, WHEN YOU TURN 18, BOTH MEN & WOMEN HAVE TO SERVE 1 YEAR.
TRY AND DO THAT HERE IN AMERICA........GOOD LUCK.
GOOD TO HEAR FROM YOU....STAY WELL -

Not only do I remember the picture but besides shopping in Kresge's & Woolworths I went to the Dentist above the stores until we could not afford it and I went to the City Dental Clinic on Baltic Street. Of course we have discussed Neergards before and they are still there. What I mean by the age Jim is that 99% of the people on this blog either knew each other from the neighborhood or are related. I do not qualify in either category. Hell, one of the grammar schools I went to (PS40's) was torn down. My H.S. (Manual) changed names and my Church which was Reformed is now Baptist. By the way, I had a tour of the Church Buildings in August when we were up there on your old block. Old Goat

Hi Paul:
I''m coming along thank you. The knee is still a little stiff especially when
it gets damp. I'm really like a senior citizen now and I'm only 56. Hope all
is well with you and your family. I hope your winning in AC. -
Hi my sweet heart Festina:
How are you feeling. You better be doing OK. Miss talking to you.
I told Suzie we have to get together for coffee or something else soon.
When Terry comes home we have to set something up. I hope you
mother is also doing well. Love to you both.................... -

you got that right , so good. yummy !!!!!!! -
Warren- great to see you on here-Manual Training not only became John Jay but it is now closed.
Donna- So happy to hear that the knee is coming along. It's gona hurt like hell, but you have to allow the therapist to bend that leg beyond the pain in order to get back to normal. Say hi to Kenny for me.
Howdy, Stranger!
