Subject: St. Rocco's Cadets
Hello everyone my name is Harold Davis, and I am proud member of St. Rocco's Cadets!
Although I did not live in the neighborhood... growing up as a teenager St. Rocco's Cadets was the biggest thing in my young life....
I spent more time at St. Rocco's Youth center than with at my home in Manhattan!
My heart and my thanks go out to Andy DiOrio who pasted away in 2009...
He gave my the opportunity to push myself into becoming who I am today...
And that was who we all lovingly called our uncle...
Uncle Andy had a way about him.... He did not see color race or religion, he had a gift, to see what's in your heart...
He took these kids from every walk of life, rich kids, poor kids, and gave us something to believe in...
Something bigger than ourselves...... And made us one of the greatest, and still talked about Drum Corps in Drum Corps History!
So in honor of Uncle Andy I built St. Rocco's Cadets website and produce this short but sweet video......
Please feel free to join us in our celebration of our childhood memorizes.......
Sincerely yours,
Harold Davis

Hi Harold.....its great to meet you .....especially since you were so close
to my Brother-in-law Jimmy Ednie. He was a great guy and he is missed
by so many people!

Hi Patsy ....thanks ....I just need a time out for awhile
Im glad your Aunt Carol is doing much better also

I just found out on facebook that Johnny Maistro (spell) from the Brooklyn Bridge passed. I always loved that group. I even went to Long Island one time to see them play when I was young...
I always love Girl I heard you're getting married. Reminds me of Vinny Czado from the slope... -

Yes Jimmy is the greatest brother I ever add........
I was drafted in April of 1968, and that was the last time I saw Jimmy or any of my other fellow Cadets....
While in the Army I toured with the Bob Hope USO Show all over the Far East! If not for the training and discipline of my intructions by St. Rocco's intructors...
I surely would have ended up in a foxhole! lol
After serving my time in the service, I became a professional musician, touring all over the world... And when anyone ever asked me how did I learn to play drums like I do....... I proudly say I was in a Drum Corps from Brooklyn called St. Rocco's Cadets!!!!!!
In 2002 my soon to be wife lost her fight with breast cancer.... Ans my mind just went blank....... That's when I started thing of my passed, and the only place that made me feel good was going back to Brooklyn.......
The Original St. Rocco's started out as one page with one picture......
And Jimmy was one of the first I reconnected with..... We talked for hours and hours.... There was so much to talk about and never enough time.....
So Jimmy along with Little Andy Dukie and Kenny put together our first reunion....
You should have seen the smiles of happiness felled the room!!!
And so many showed up! And Jimmy made sure if you did have the money to be there he got you there.........
And we all came from L.A. to Florida and everywhere in between......
We are all family here we try and stay in touch.....
We do stay in touch.....
Yes I do love my St. Rocco's Family and the love becomes back.....
St. Rocco's are you relayed to Georgia?
[/img]
-
HI ....I had to stick around to see if you would answer back...(smile)

disease! -

Hi Terry-I know accidents happen but this could have been prevented. This was the sitter's last week anyway (she's moving & said with her 2 small kids it was too much to watch Justin too!) So Tina was looking for someone else anyway-(and she found someone that will start this Monday) but the plastic surgeon saw him today and said no surgery-it will take about 5 months for his ear & cheek area to heal (thank God) He is getting a scab on his cheekbone already-it only takes a second for something to happen right? I'm leaving soon to babysit so I'll know more when I see him.....have a great day....bye
-
Hi Anna .....give him a kiss from me ...that poor little guy!
