Debbie ....Ive been keeping Kati in my prayers for awhile ...hoping that
she wouldnt have to get surgery. I would still get a 2nd opinion ....and
read up on it.... and see what people have to say that had the surgery
already.

Hi-thank you everyone for your good wishes for Justin. Must tell you-I am so sad-his burns were worse than I thought. His ear is swollen 3x the size, and his cheek down to his neck including his chin & his lips were scalded..He's on meds and ointments but the little trouper was dancing & laughing while I danced with him tonight. It will take at least 6 months for his face to heal (the Dr.told my SIL-some parts of his face have between 2nd & 3rd degree burns) .thank you for caring..you actually made me feel better reading all the Get Well Wishes for Justin....thank you again and I'll keep you posted...good night.....

Fred - OMG you made my day. God Bless you!! What wonderful news! What a beautiful way to celebrate Easter.

Harold - welcome! You must know my sister Constance, my brother-in-law Raul Montijo as well as his sidekick Eddie Eskew and my cousins Marie CIrillo and Mike Albano!! They were all in the corp too. I actually was in the corp for a very short period of time - right before they disbanded.

Helen - hope Peter gets better soon. You need a vacation away from everyone to regroup. You're going to burn out. Please take care of yourself.

Debbie - sorry to hear about Kati. My prayers are with you all. Poor baby - she'll be fine though. It's good you're waiting till schools over - this way she can enjoy all the festivites.

Anna - sorry to hear that Justin's burns are worse than you thought - he'll heal quickly because he's so young. Poor little thing. Presents, lots of presents!!

Deb, I'm sorry to hear that Kati has to have the surgery. My daughter
Gina had the procedure over twenty years ago. I'm not up to date on
what the surgery options are or the different procedures today, each case
is unique depending where in the spine it occurs.
We tried a lot of different things to avoid the surgery for almost a year, traction,
back braces, tens unit (small electrical unit that you wear around your waist)
it has electrode type attachments, like an EKG, that you attach to your back, that help pull the spine into place.
In the end we took her for the surgery. As Patsy said, Kids are amazing
and seem to heal quickly and handle these things very well. Your going to
find out that its no small issue and you'll have to make a lot of decisions, but not to woory, the surgeons have become very very good at this type procedure. Don't be afraid to ask to speak to parents that have already used your surgeon of choice, regarding recouperation time, scaring, etc.

I am so happy to see that Harold has vivited our blog and hope that he contributes often. He really is a very special and accomplished guy. He is always on the move even to this day he travels the world. I guess his St. Rocco's nickname, ZIPPY was appropriate. The web site he started for the drum corps several years ago really brought all the "Guys & Dolls" back together again.

Suzie- I hope all is well. I didn't know you were related to Jimmy Edne. He was a very gifted and caring person. Having been blessed with a good income he always cared about those in need. From his charitable contributions to buying someone a refridgerator to paying someone's bills, that was Jimmy. He will always be missed.

Danny - Raul passed away in Jan. 1996 - he had complications from open heart surgery that just didn't work. It was a very sad and shocking day since he was one of the truly good guys. If he was here he'd be soooo proud of his kids and his grandchildren. Funny - one of his grandsons, Ethan, who's 1 - reminds me all of Raul.

Anna, I want to cry for your little guy, I feel so bad, he will be fine, I'm sure and as long as he's not in any pain.
Suzie, I can't believe what people will do to stop your car and rob or kidnap someone, it's a crazy world, thanks for posting. My son just had five robberies in his subdivision but luckily, they do have a desc of the guys and the car.
Judy, Happy Birthday to your hubby!!! Enjoy spending time with your son!!!
Paul and Debbie, my niece had the surgery too while she was in HS. She bounced back fast. I do remember her having to buy a book bag on wheels. Debbie, if you have any questions, my niece is on FB and would be happy to answer any questions.

Hi-thank you Danny,Anthony,Patsy,Debbie,Judy,Paul and Karen....Justin is going back to the Dr.this afternoon-my SIL said that the burns look worse (I think they might just be healing) but glad he'll be seen again today...Judy-Happy Birthday to your hubby...Helen-hope Peter is ok-hang in there. MaryAnn & Suzie& Terry.thank u re: your kind words..he's on Motrin every couple of hours so he's in no pain but I'm sure eventually as he heals it will be itchy and he'll want to scratch but I hope by that time he'll have bandages on..(Dr.wants him to get air on the burns-no bandage yet) I'll let u know after his Dr's appt.this afternoon. thanks again everybody..........
