All 5 kids stayed over my house last night and I conked out on the couch after 1am, so I have no idea how late they stayed up!!! Must have been 5am or there abouts!!

A friend of mine is moving back into her house today and I volunteered to go over and help her clean and repair. She rented it out to a few college students for the past few years while she was living in Florida. I can just imagine what kind of mess they left.

Good Morning -
And so the year begins......

Frank just informed me that his cardeologist called yesterday to inform him
that the stint they put in his heart, didn't work. What great news to wake up to.... (Last year he went for a routine physical and found he had something called 'the widow maker' - if he has a heart-attack, no hope to survive.)


What's ironic, I just looked at the menu heading from last night's dinner,
and it is titled.....
"TO BETTER DAYS...... 2009"


Well off to church... let the prayers begin!!!

Hi Everyone!! Boy I just got up...went to bed too late....had a good time, spent New Year's Eve with some friends...

It was so nice to see Anthony, Joe, Terry and Suzie on here last night...if I were home you know I would have joined you guys......

Having a quite day today....going to try and make my artichokes....even though I can't even think of food today...ate too much last night.

Terry - Thank you for thinking of everyone that needs to be thought of right now.

Francesca - So sorry to hear about Frank....you know he will be our thoughts and prayers every day.

ok these artichokes are giving me a f*&*&g headache. Well I cut, sniped and stuffed them....I don't remember the stems being pointy little suckers.....I must of printed out five different ways to make them...that was the first mistake....one recipe said "put a small amount of water in the pot, but do not let the water touch the artichokes"...ok am I supposed to be Moses now and try and part my pot so the water doesn't touch the artichokes. lol lol lol Well then I FINISHED reading the recipe and what I did not read the first time is that this was the way to make them if you are steaming them lol lol Well the one question I have if anyone is out there reading is once the water starts to boil how low do I cook them.

Ok well all the kids had a good New Year's Eve they all got to where they were going...thank God......Funny little story...last night before we were all leaving my husband told my daughter who is 26 don't forget to put the gate up for her little dog who was staying home. We usually put a gate up in the kitchen so she don't roam the whole house when we are gone. So my daughter stopped by my friends house before she went out and my husband asked if she put the gate up.....surprise!! no she forgot.......so now we call my youngest son Michael "the college kid" to please don't forget to put the gate up. But when we tell him to do it we have to always add "make sure the dog is on the right side of the gate before you put it up" lol lol as Joe would say, you can't make this stuff up..... but to our surprise he did remember to put the gate up and yes he called me as soon as he got to his friends........

KEEP THE CHOKES LOW FLAME STEAM THEM. WHAT I WOULD DO IF IT BOILS SUT OF FOR AWHILE AND PUT ON AND SEMA THEM. KEEP THE TOP OFF ALITTLE SO IT DOES NOT BOIL. WHEN MKE GETS HOME IN ALITTLE WHILE ILL ASK HIM HE IS THE COOK. IF U ALREADY DID NOT DESTROY THEM LOL

Judy ..I never, ever made artichokes. I like stuffed tomatoes and peppers better
and they're easier to stuff. I think you need Umbria to help you!!

My Son Vinny is leaving at 6 in the morning on Jet Blue to Florida
and from there on a Cruise to Puerto Rico, Bahamas and a few more places....
Im just gonna be stressed until he returns ....so everyone, please dont mind me
for the next week!

terry said keep them on low, I do that also....a simmer...you know they are done when the stems pull out easily...
Franny's recipe was like mine, although i am sorry I did not tell you to put some olive oil in the water and I put a little salt, and a piece of garlic also...as long as you simmer them, there should be no problem...

MIKE DOES THEM DIFFERENT HE PUTS THEM IN WITH WATER HALF WAY UP WITH GARLIC CLOVE, SOME CHICKEN BROTH LETS THEM BOIL AND WHEN THEY ARE DONE AND COOLED HE STUFFS THEM WITH THE BREAD CRUMBS LOTS AND LOTS AND PUTS THEM IN THE OVEN WITH THE JUICE FROM THE PAN., MARGIE DID NOT DO THAT ...COOKED THEM STUFFED IN THE PAN.OH WELL IM SURE THEY WILL BE DELICIOUS.

Well artichokes are done.....they came pretty good, if I may say so myself lol lol

and yes they are a pain in the butt....especially trying to fit them all in one big pot....I must of dirtied three different pots until I found the right one.....

I DID BIG COOKING LAST NIGHT. TODAY, WE ARE HAVING ALL FINGER FOODS. BUFFALO WINGS, VEGGIE PLATTER, RICE BALLS, ARTICHOKES,
