Something Not to Be Missed But How Do You Get People to COme — Brooklynian

Something Not to Be Missed But How Do You Get People to COme

The volunteer neighborhood gallery space Gallery on Dean (in the backroom of Tavern on Dean who donates the space and takes NO commission from the artist AND pays for the invite mailing and reception) starts it's fifth season with an exciting exhbit by a young Bed Stuy artist named Yamel Cupid. It is profoundly moving and I hope people will try very hard to have a look. When I went to his studio yesterday to do the final pick of pictures some gave me chills. Really. It opens next Sunday (September 14th) at 4 with a public reception (great free wine and very good cheeses) and a meet and greet of the artist. Family friendly. Please please try to come. This kid deserves the attention. Gallery on Dean is at 755 Dean Street corner of Underhill. Peter J. Ketchum (volunteer administrator of the space) questions: email me at [email protected]
Thanks. If you want a mailed invite (future collector's item i bet...) send your name and address. And not coincidently, this day marks the beginning of my FORTIETH year in Prospect Heights. Yikes!
