Hi all,

I got a flyer yesterday in the mail from Major Owens re: a special Martin Luther King federal town hall meeting on Monday, January 16, 2006 from 1-3 p.m.at Prospect Heights High School (corner of Classon and Union)

It appears that the subject of the meeting is "What will the 109th congress bring to make our schools better?"

While I'm not terribly concerned with the state of the public schools in our nabe - I don't have kids and don't plan to - I know that many of you do have children and may want to get involved now in this process. I hope someone from the group can check it out, if nothing else to make good neighborhood contacts in the education sector.

and on the back I'm noticing that there will be some sort of presentation of central Brooklyn schools student art, poetry and essays. hrm.
