Help Hurrican Katrina'ers left here in NYC
Subject: Help Hurrican Katrina'ers left here in NYC
The time limit has ended (Jan. 7) for those still affected by Katrina that have been relocated to NYC to stay in the hotels. BUT FEMA has graciously given them a chance to find a place to live. FEMA will pay for their rent for 18 months!!If anyone knows has an apartment, or knows someone who does, FEMA will pay you directly ($900-studio, on up to approx. $2000-three bedroom I think) to provide them with housing while they get back on their feet.
You can contact the local FEMA Office at 917-843-3841 and tell them you have an apartment to provide for someone.
What has happened is that almost of the families, children, and elderly have been taken care of. Now there are 48 mostly single individuals between 30-50 that are left. Lets reach out and find them housing before they end up on the streets of NY.
Howdy, Stranger!
