Burlesque: Difference Between Corio and Slipper Room — Brooklynian

Burlesque: Difference Between Corio and Slipper Room

Hey gang - this isn't Park Slope centric but thought I'd ask the knowledgeable crew here.

I am looking to take my wife and some friends to a burlesque show for her birthday. The two places I am considering are Corio and the Slipper Room. Does anyone know how different the performance styles are? I get the impression that Corio is a bit "classier" and that the Slipper Room may be a bit more over the top and cheesy...the tone of the places will affect who is invited (i.e. work friends or not)...

Can anyone shed some light?

Thanks!
