IDT Scam, look out.

Hey folks! Just wanted to give everyone the heads up of a scam thats going on around the area (at least here on Eastern Parkway). Theres a dude going around claiming to be from a company called "IDT" who asks to see your ConEd bills as a way to offer you a discount. I asked the guy for some sort of ID and he showed me this crappy fake looking thing that he clearly made on a home computer and laminated at Kinkos. He was being pretty pushy so I told him I wasn't interested and he was on his way. I went online and looked it up, apparently its all a big scam. I'm not sure if he was interested in getting personal information or just scoping out who's home and who's not. Anyways, 311 said if he comes back to call 911 b/c its something they're having problems with. I didn't think it was an emergency at all, or warranted calling 911, but I guess if you get a bad vibe or something thats what you're supposed to do.
