Reflect on the Election with StoryCorps

There's a distinct feeling in the air that we are living through a momentous occasion. In just a few days we will be electing a new president who will have to shoulder the U.S through two wars and carry our nation through a time of economic uncertainty. Many of us are looking to our leaders for inspiration, especially one of the two men who will lead our country for the next four years. Be it, Senator John McCain or Senator Barack Obama, we invite you to share your thoughts on the presidential elections and the candidate that best resonates with you, at StoryCorps' StoryBooth in Lower Manhattan. Reflections on this election are an important part our history and StoryCorps invites you to speak freely about the issues that matter to you during this election year. We invite you to record your feelings on why this presidential race matters to you, reflect on the meaning of this race, and share whatever stories you may have. At the end of the recording you receive a copy for yourself and your partner, and be given a chance to preserve your story at American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress.

StoryCorps is an independent nonprofit project whose mission is to honor and celebrate one another's lives through listening. We are a national oral history project committed to recording and archiving the stories of Americans. At StoryCorps we believe that every story counts, and is an important part of our national history.
