Community Bookstore’s Iguana died
Every time I go inside Community Bookstore on 7th ave btwn carroll & garfield, I always make sure to go to back and look at their Iguana. It was always nice to see him. So when I stopped in earlier today and saw an empty tank I was confused. I asked a worker where he was, and she told me he died this past Sunday. She said she cried about it over the weekend. It may seem silly to some people, but I know when you have a pet for a long time the pet really can become like a family member. I will miss seeing that Iguana every time I go back in there, the store won’t be the same without him.

Oh, sad. I knew this iguana. Did it live a long life, in iguana terms?

its not silly to be sad over the death of a pet of any sort. I had a ball python for many years and when she (Maggie) passed I was crushed. Fur or not, pets are family members! Someone who knew it should send a card...

Gomez was a very lucky girl, she was 17 or 18 years old when she passed. She loved being in the store, Catherine used to keep her at home but brought her in for one of the Harry Potter events. Gomez was so happy with the attention she received that Catherine decided to keep her there. She couldn't have found a better place, RIP Gomez.

what kind of a person wouldn't cry over the death of a pet? not a good person, imho.
we had a little gesture to gomez's memory at the reading i took part in at the store the other night. i thought that was nice, although i didn't know the late lizard personally.
carmen, i am sorry about maggie's passing and hope it's been long enough now for you to appreciate the following:Carmen wrote: I had a ball python for many years and when she (Maggie) passed I was crushed.
