I heard today in the news that an elementary school has changed its name to barack obama elementary.

How stupid would that school and its teachers would feel in 4 years if obama turned out to be the worst president in history?! The man is not even president yet and everyone is celebrating him.

Let’s hold judgment till we see what he can do!

I remember living in Brazil during the transition to democracy during the 80s (and, no, I am not equating Bush with 25 years of military dictatorship!). Some friends of mine refused to go to a parade of trios electricos (essentially bands on top of tractor trailers of sound equipment) because, as they said - time to get to work not to party (and for a Brazilian to say such a thing meant they were very serious!). That said for many (me included) the election of Obama has to do with repudiating one of this country's original sins ( the extermination of Native Americans would be another). In that respect the success or not of Obama's administration is beside the point. Black folks have the right to be lousy presidents too. And that is progress.

But this commercial post from "Design Schemes at Home" - a little tacky, no? Come on guys, show some class!
