Deadly accident on Atlantic and Bedford - what happened?

What happened this afternoon around 2:30 on Atlantic and Bedford? Looked like a terrible car accident. The body was still on the street, but the only thing intact were the shoes and the legs, the upper part of the body was covered, but there was not much left to be covered. So sad. What happened? Was this a pedestrian who got hit?
Be careful crossing Atlantic...

that has always been a dangerous intersection since i was a little girl sorry to hear about a death there, esp with the armory. i hope it wasnt 1 of those homeless guys

How terrible. I got hit on Atlantic and Washington in the spring. Taxi ran a red light and hit me in the crosswalk. Be very careful crossing -- drivers are reckless!

ON 11/30/08 AT APPROXIMATELY 0130 HOURS, AT THE C/O ATLANTIC AND BEDFORD AVENUES, IN THE CONFINES OF THE 077 PRECINCT, POLICE RESPONDED TO A REPORT OF A PEDESTRIAN STRUCK AT LOCATION. UPON ARRIVAL, THEY FOUND A M/B/19, WHO HAD BEEN STRUCK BY AN AUTO WHILE CROSSING ATLANTIC AVENUE. EMS RESPONDED AND PRONOUNCED THE VICTIM D.O.A. AT THE SCENE. NO ARREST(S) AT THIS TIME. THE INVESTIGATION ONGOING.

Drivers on Atlantic are insane. So sad this happened. The poor kid. What a horrible way to die.
