East 5th Street petition

Do you have kids that use Greenwood Playground or dogs you walk along East 5th Street? That exit is crazy. The drivers come off the Prospect Expressway fast and fly through the light. Here is an online petition.

This petition was circulated on paper during the summer and early fall (it
was out at Little Tonnino's for a while). It has been sent to Community Board 7 and various elected officials.

I hope they do make some changes, any effort to improve safety and traffic conditions in this area is welcome. I have signed the petition and will ask my neighbors to do the same.

I haven't noticed people blasting through the stop sign, but I can imagine they occasionally do. It's not the easiest place to cross. I signed the petition. Might be worth sending to the folks over at http://kensingtonbrooklynblog.com/ too (It's basically in Kensington, and we all have a stake in that area being safe)
