I'm going to need to purchase an pinata — Brooklynian

I'm going to need to purchase an pinata

Subject: I'm going to need to purchase an pinata

It's for a 30 year old's birthday party. She has requested a Barbie Pinata. I think a generic one will probably do, but given my propensity towards not leaving this hood very often (and also my preference not to carry a big barbie pinata on a train), I am going to need somewhere local to buy a pinata from.

Any suggestions where to go?

  • Party City at Atlantic Center.
  • I will rent you Mougar. :) Cheap.
  • you think people would rent him?
  • I'm way better then an ordinary pinata. Normally they are filled with crappy candy, but I'm stuffed full of dumplings!
  • the man has a point. Rocker girl, the bidding starts at .01

(If you play your cards right, I will actually pay YOU to take him).
  • Hmm, I was going to fill it with Bonne Bell Bubllegum lipgloss, but dumplings may work too.
  • The Party City suggestion is a good one. And they even have a Barbie pinata.

Still not as good as Mougar though.

Holy Crap that thing is terrible. I can't believe I'm going to buy that and walk down the street with it. Mougar is looking better and better . . .

Yeah. It is hideous. I way prefer the Hello Kitty one.
  • On second thought, I already have enough children taking pokes at me on this board.

The saddest part is, these will be drunk 30-somethings.
  • Haha, sounds like it will fun actually. Just fill the pinata with those little plastic airplane liquors and some of those liquor filled chocolates.
  • On second thought, maybe Babes in Toyland on Bergan can order you an "Adult" pinata, Barbie nude or something.
  • Suggesting an adult Barbie nude pinata? ...wow, you must want to get emails from those who went to Smith College!

Oh Tiny liquors are BRILLS! Except it's taking place in a bar so I don't think it would be allowed. :(
But I bet I can get some lube to put in there. That's a funny thing to mix with lipgloss.
  • Wait a minute!! Is Obamanut entirely wrong? Is PS really not filled with PC police? Am I the only one on the board who finds something perverse in the idea of using sticks to beat a representation of a young woman at a party? Particularly a nude young woman (assuming such a pinata could be found)?

    Where are all the feminists?

I'm going to make Mougar dress as Barbie so it doesn't really offend anyone.
  • So it's ok to abuse cross-dressers? :D

    well, duh.
  • For future reference, if anyone needs someone to carry a Barbie pinata on the train for them, I'm your man.

But will you carry a Barbie dressed Mougar? That's the true test of a man.
  • I'm still waiting ....where the hell is my invite to this shindig?
  • Flexi, you can't just freeload. You have to host an event at some point.

Mougar is doing his part. Smith College has done theirs.

Dixiecup, what makes you qualified to carry a barbie pinata?

I host dinner once a week. I just don't invite you

So usual time on Saturday, Flex?

    :D
  • Hehe. Its actually open to the public so you're all invited!

I'm throwing my friend's 30th bday on Friday feb 20th downstairs at Union Hall (at midnight after the show ends). There will be karaoke, cupcakes, and a barbie pinata for the world to enjoy. She doesn't know about the pinata - she just asked for a Barbie theme but I would rather beat on Barbie than hang barbie crap everywhere, so I'm replacing the word "theme" with the word "pinata". There will be drink specials too, probably something ridiculous and pink that will make you throw up a bunch the next day.
