  • Whoa now
  • Garfunky owns Park Slope, Cas, did you forget? How DARE you cross him! His word is PS law!
  • I don't know what your problem is but you seem to be taking this very personally. I never said that any of these businesses were closing, just that they weren't doing as well. And I'm not some newbie no one knows coming out of nowhere making shit up. Again, what I said was very different from posting that a rapist works at a store or a store is a drug or mob front. I don't post everything I hear, go back and read some of my 1400 posts before you make shit up.

Oh, posting my place of work and the whole "function as a counter girl" smacks of a superiority complex. How sad are you that you feel the need to make yourself feel superior to a "counter girl"?
  • I posted this on the other thread for La Taq, but this thread is the current hot one.

For my Park Slope friends. I called the broker handling this place and I offer the following: It is being offered as 2 stores. 950 sq ft. each at 10 K each a month. This comes out to $130 a sq ft a year. I manage commercial spaces in Manhattan and the rule of thumb for food is above 200 a ft it becomes difficult to make money unless they do a lot deliveries. A Deli paying toward 300 a ft needs 15 bikes out front making deliveries all day long to make any money. If this place has a liquor license then that obviously helps. The lease runs out in February. I suspect the decision to try to split the place was decided a while back when the economy was in better shape. Splitting the space would preclude food in one of them or at least a working kitchen (probably only one duct going to the roof). If I was managing this place I would advise the LL to test the waters but be prepared to give the current tenant a big hug and a 1 to 5 year extension at a negotiated increase. Also they're not getting many bites on this. The presumption is your calling about that Super Saver store.
  • Bottom line: There's a good chance nothing will happen. Both parties will settle in for the economic winter unless LL has a onerous "holdover" clause demanding triple rent and attempts to enforce it. Suicide, economically speaking.
I'm going out on a limb here especially with Garfunky in da house.
  • in the words of my dear mother:
"everyone needs to chill the fuck out."

    seriously, calm down people.
