What's with all the new Salons in South Slope?

Subject: What's with all the new Salons in South Slope?

Is it just me or have a bunch of salons recently opened on 7th between 11th and 15th? Just today I saw a sign for another one going in right next to Brookvin (which I believe opens tomorrow). Does PS really have that much hair?

  • I do! But I only trust my girl at Aveda.
  • And that's my point, why would anyone think there is some crazy demand for more salons when most everyone already has someone they trust and go to? Am I wrong here? Just looking at the other post, "an idea for a business in the north slope", I would think there are so many other things in demand than a salon. What a waste of money to open one of these things up on the same 4 blocks as 7 other salons. Open a sandwich place or salad place for gods sake.

Geez, what's wrong with me...I'm really upset about this.
  • Have you walked down Washington avenue lately? There's at least 2 salons per block from Eastern Parkway to Atlantic. So to answer your question - yes there is plenty of hair to go around brooklyn - just spreading the love to P Slope now!
  • They are a blight. The new banks.
  • Yeah, I noticed that too. South Slope just about =s Sushi and Hair Cuts. Ug!
