Did anyone participate in the Park Slope CSA last year? Or the one on 6th ave and 19th street? How was it? Too much food, not enough variety, worth the money, sucked having to work the distriution?

  • We used Cobble Hill CSA last year, it is well worth it, long season, I think 28 weeks, our last pickup was in December, some variety but with not too much really strange stuff we had no idea what to do with but something we never would have tried, some fresh herbs. easily enough for 2 if you eat in every night. It was around $450 or $460

    example pickup date 7/29:

    3 lbs total summer squash/eggplant/string beans (green & yellow), 1 head red oak leaf lettuce or radicchio, 1 bunch scallions, 1 bunch fennel, 1 bunch summer savory or basil or sorrel

    This is all certified organic and fresh fresh fresh, I've had a head of lettuce in the fridge for easy 2 weeks and still OK

  • Sign up asap, the shares go pretty quickly in CSA's. The greenwood heights one was excellent.
  • Yoda, can you say any more about the GH one? Did you have to work it, helping with distribution?
  • I haven't been a member of the Greenwood Heights CSA previously, but a quick glance at their website tells me you do have to commit to one Saturday to help with distribution and set up.

    I'd be curious to hear more about the Greenwood Heights CSA too, since I'm considering trying it this year.
