Wing delivery (or takeout) for superbowl sunday? — Brooklynian

Wing delivery (or takeout) for superbowl sunday?

I am not a wing eater but I'm buying a good sized platter (probably 50-70 wings) to feed the mens for my superbowl party on Sunday. I was thinking of getting them from Atomic Wings since its two blocks from my house, but I'm open to any place within walking distance of 5th/9th st OR that delivers. Anyone have any experience with larger orders such as this?

  • how many mens are there? and are these mens cute, smart, single and employed????
  • lol it sould be a mix of about 10 mens, some single, most cute, most employed (at least marginally)
  • I'll bring the wings :-) :-) :-)
  • buffalo wild wings at atlantic center. i'm sure they do take out orders but it would probably be best to call today since they'll have a million orders on sunday
  • they're really easy to make if you're so inclined. All you need is a bottle of Franks Red Hot and some butter.
  • One year I tried to get wings at Wing Wagon for Super Bowl Sunday. It was impossible(and they don't deliver). The line was down the street. I actually had to buy my wings at a Chinese place down the street. Not so good. I recommend Frank's Red Hot as well and they can be baked instead of fried, a bit more healthy.
  • I love Johnny Mack's wings. They don't deliver but you can carry them out and the last party I had them at, they received rave reviews.

Bonnie's wings are good too, but they might be swamped that day.
  • Ok so I tried BWW and Atomic and the wings seem expensive- 100 are $75 and 50 are $40...this doesn't even seem like much of a deal over buying 12 at a time. This might be the going rate, but does anyone have any experience with any pizza places or something? I was expecting 100 to run about $60 or something...maybe its wishful thinking
  • Carmen, go to Costco and get frozen wings and pop them in your oven!

I was thinking about this but no membership :(
  • How about your local Chinese takeout? Order in advance, pickup early Saturday, avoid Sunday and reheat/slather them with hot sauce at home.

In related news, expect Growler lines out the door of Bierkraft all weekend.
  • ok it looks like Bonnie's is $12 for 20 which ends up being way cheaper, I'm going to try to call them this afternoon and see if I can order from them. I'll let everyone know how it goes!
  • I second a chinese place. Just order fried wings. Heat up hot wing sauce and baste them youself or have it out as dipping sauce. speaking of... why not KFC???? KFC is sooo good!

Sorry Flexi, they're probably all under 25 too. (carmen is a very lucky gal!! :afro: :cyclopsani: )
  • Subject: try...

Park Slope Ale House. They can maybe do an advance order for you...I've had them do party sized mac and cheese for me and it was a great deal.

But, they are easy to make. If you've got a grill, go that route, then toss them in Franks and butter. Or, my new favorite (which was initially an experiment) satay sauce, sambal and a little butter. Shockingly good.

if you drive, I'll be your member.....
  • Bonnie's has the best wings in the neighborhood. Stick to them. Call them sooner rather than later as a lot of people will be ordering for this weekend.
  • I seem to remember Bonnies doesn't do big orders like that, especially on a busy day like that. You can call to double check. I've been there for a burger on a game day and it's been hellishly busy, and they don't deliver.
  • I agree.I would go to Costco or BJs and get a couple of bags of wings. Not only are the hot wings good but the honey garlic. I would melt some butter and pour in some hot sauce and rub on the hot wings and cover and heat on a low temp. You save money, time and wings are probably what you are ordering from the restaurants.
  • Im also a bit concerned about cooking them bc my apartment is very small and it might be a pain in the ass to cook 70 wings in my teeny oven...
  • Ordered from Bonnies! 80 wings is gonna run me around 50 bucks which is perfect. They said they're taking orders and 4:30 is the best time to pick them up because they're basically booked for 5:00 onward (they're gonna put them in a metal sheet so I can keep them in the oven.) WIN!
  • SWEET!! mummmm Bonnies! damn that makes me hungry!!

Honey Garlic wings are an atrocity.
  • Wing wagon has 100 wings for $40.
  • I love Bonnie's but you might want to . . . clarify.

Aren't their wings split, mini drumstick and That Other Part = 2 pieces?
80 "wings" might = flying parts of 20 chickens. Maybe that's what Wing Wagon does too, but not Chinese takeout.

(ewwww, I'm so grossed out by wings now)
  • p.s. isn't all KFC gross in Brooklyn?
I occasionally love/crave The Colonel, but it's so off here I never indulge. Esp that joint on 4th Ave that is perpertually Under New Management.
  • Yeah I don't know, I agree the colonel is better in other places. Might be a cleanliness thing? Better employees that actually like their jobs somewhat so they put a little more care into how they cook? Who knows. But I have picked up some biscuits and a chicken tender when the craving got too strong and it was fine. I would think for a big order you would get everything fresh out of the fryer and that would make a big difference.
  • Ya know, a couple of bags of tasty ribs from Red Hot will please a wing hungry crowd. They are overpriced, but Blue Ribbon has wings and ribs that will make you cry with appreciation. yum yum in the tummer tum tum.
