Park Slopers without children need to be considerate too

  • Katie,

Your point is fair. Have you tried speaking to the parents on this issue? A request from you to have the children be quiet in the hallway in the morning is reasonable.

That's a fair point. I guess it is the way the neighbors responded to me that lead me to title the post the way I did.

I asked the neighbors to quiet down for my nephew and they said, but we live here too. I should have just said, it is late and I need you to quiet down please. In all fairness to my title, I doubt very much that anyone with their own children or little cousins would have responded by saying, but we live here too.

People with or without kids can be annoying. Mostly with, in my opinion. And yes, they do live there too, but there are quiet hours, on non-weekend nights.

But i wish I could call about the neighbors who allow their kids to pound down the stairs first thing in the morning. It happens every day, not just like a once in awhile party, and they are inconsiderate to anyone who might be asleep! :(
yeah, ask them to have the kids not pound down the stairs! We live in a small building, my kids are the only ones here and I know we make noise, but, I try my best to keep it to a minimum. When coming into the building when I know there are other people home (the building is empty during the day), i always tell them to keep their voices down and not to stomp their feet, it's really not that hard to get your kids to behave like human beings, why so many people choose not to do it is beyond me! So, yeah, nicely ask your neighbors to have their kids go down the stairs quieter!

I was at a magic show this past Friday night and man, the people behind me and their kids, I wanted to strangle them, but that's another matter.
  • Also, I am sad we are no longer debating hipsters and who may rightfully live in park slope.

  • I'm leaving from Lunch, when I return I expect this thread to go off topic and become about hipsters peeing the streets and how they need to be curbed.
  • Bless the hipsters and the children
For in this world they have no voice
    They have no choice.

Bless the hipsters and the children
For the world can never be
    The world they see.

You can stop cyber stalking my every post now, you know. Or would you like to get in on my ovaries, too. No pun intended, of course.
  • I went to see My Bloody Valentine (a horror flick with nudity) in park slope last weekend. In my row was a family with three young children which I thought was really inappropriate. I was really impressed though with how quiet the children were during the movie. The parents said no talking, and they meant it. It was a young Mexican family. Having worked in Bay Ridge for ten years, I am always impressed with the discipline that so many Mexican families have with their children. When a Mexican mother says no talking, she means it.

Ah yes, because conversation ends in a thread when you decide it does. Gotcha. I'll remember that in the future.

By the by, it's stalking if I follow you around the forums. Not if I continue a discussion in a single thread. But you can go ahead and tell yourself whatever makes you feel better.
  • ppphhfffttt - stalker.
  • Wow... Rockingood, for a second there I thought you were me. So rude. But even I draw the line at beavers' ovaries. I'm glad you don't.

I just called the retard police on this thread by the way. Problem solved.
  • I'm sure the root of this trouble can be traced to hipsters. It's just a matter of figuring how they're responsible.
  • Drunken R.,

“retard” is a derogatory term. I work with children with special education needs and I find such language to be both hurtful and crude. I hope that Mamacita will send you a private message saying that people on this forum frown upon such derogatory language. I know that I certainly do.

  • Hey, OP,

Welcome to the cliquish hell that is Brooklynian.

While I would probably be opposed to your viewpoint (I think a party that ends at 1 a.m. on a Saturday is not a big deal, although on the hallway/stoop thing I would tend to agree.) It still does not excuse the way Anastasia Beaverhausen has been posting. I have grown very tired of her posts here and in many other threads. I am weary of posting sometimes because I know that she and others in her little clique will soon be degenerating the thread from a thoughtful conversation into a big joke. Actually, it is mostly just her. Very annoying. I think she has nothing better to do than troll Brooklynian.

Go ahead, Anastasia, what are you gonna say now? I can't frackin' wait.
  • I frown upon such curse words.

    Having retardation is sad.
  • I was gonna chime in, but I just realized that Apple Pants made this all up. S/He has been trolling the archives just to bring up old fights. This post was the prefect start to the war between the breeders and the ballers.
  • apple pants = dexter
  • Well, irregardlessly, I still don't like Anastasia's posts.
  • You're free to read other things. Apparently, you hang on my every word if they "annoy" you so much.

"Frackin'" huh? Don't you have a BSG convention to get to? Or do you just wait til Comicon?
  • I am done with this thread. The negativity on this forum is out of control.

Apple’s last post on this thread.
  • See what I mean.

I do read other things, I am under the impression that you do not.

And, you obviously know where the "frack" reference is from, so I guess I will see you at the BSG convention as well.

    Got anything else, little troll?
  • Anastasia must be frustrated due to the peanut butter shortage --- that's my guess.
  • "Irregardlessly" hahahahahahaha!!!!!
  • apple pants wrote: I am done with this thread. The negativity on this forum is out of control.

Apple’s last post on this thread.
We couldn't get you promise not to post on any thread could we?
  • Enough please. If you need to fight do it by PM.

The OP of this thread has moved on, can we all do the same?!
  • Ezn - Everyone with Cable knows where the reference is from. Every cable channel ran the stupid commercial for weeks and weeks, genius.

I find it very interesting that my posts are the source of so much contention for you. Do they effect your daily life? If yes, re-evaluate. I hate to break it to you but not everyone in Brooklyn fits into your cookie cutter image of what you'd like your neighbors to be (loves babies, sunshine and sushi!). I'm not going to apologize to you for not agreeing with you. I feel sorry for you, actually. I'm sorry you can't articulate yourself without name calling, etc. You're apparently not bright enough to do so.

Thanks, OTB - I knew I could count on you to show how truly stupid you are by digging up that reference. Pat yourself on the back for that clever retort. You're a real prince.
  • If I didn't know any better, I'd say the following:

apple pants is dexter under a new name.

Too bad apple pants is no longer reading this thread full of negativity.
