Subject: I'm reading at Bristen's, Thursday, February 5

Hello, all

I will be signing books and reading from Mrs. Lincoln's Dressmaker, at Bristen's, on Thursday, February 5, at 7pm. The book is for kids ages 9 and up, and it is published by National Geographic.

Mrs. Lincoln's Dressmaker is a dual biography that chronicles the rise and fall of two very ambitious women--First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln and her dressmaker and confidante, Elizabeth Keckley, who was born into slavery. Heralded as the first African American designer of record, Keckley designed garments for some of the most elite families in the north and south, including the wives of Jefferson Davis, Stephen Douglas, and, of course, Abraham Lincoln.

This is a great event for parents, teachers, kids, and whomever would be interested in this story.

Bristen's Eatery is located at 751 Franklin Avenue, between St. Johns Pl and Sterling Pl. The event will be held this Thursday, Feb 5, from 7-8pm.

Thanks!
