  • Well, the one on the AL looks like a jet engine, sounds like a jet engine, and emits fumes and apparently heat like a jet engine. I can't claim to know what the other snow clearers sound like.

  • I think that the big problem that they have is the 3rd rail, no? I'm guessing that they'd have electrical issues unless snow surrounding the rail is removed sufficiently... do we have a resident engineer that could design a plow with a 3rd rail attachment? :D

    as the third-rail system is grounded, i doubt snow/rain/whatever would matter much. i think they do it more to keep ice/decay from forming on the rails/ties.

    anyone know for sure?
